JOB PURPOSE
To collect, analyse and report on information to maximise efficiency of the logistics operations and activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Supply Chain unit and the direct supervision of the Head of Operations, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
Supply Chain Systems Management: Spearhead the development, implementation, and upkeep of Yemen Country Office’s in-house supply chain systems, emphasizing the design and execution of systems to optimize Yemen Country Office operations.
Technical Support and Training: Provide advanced technical support to system stakeholders, including the advancement of training materials and the provision of technical staff assistance.
Contribute to the continual improvement and maintenance of WFP’s sophisticated supply chain systems.
SC Digital Solutions Implementation: Take charge of implementing cutting-edge digital solutions for a robust reassurance plan, specifically focusing on elevating the efficiency and effectiveness of HTS system.
Reports and Dashboards Development: Lead the strategic development and maintenance of WFP’s in-house supply chain information systems. This involves crafting insightful reports and dashboards to support Yemen Country Office operations, automating manual tasks to standardize processes, and enhancing data quality standards.
Stakeholder Liaison: Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain operations. Deliver comprehensive guidance and support to staff regarding supply chain systems and processes.
Compliance and Documentation: Enhance organizational adherence to pertinent laws and regulations by formulating and executing meticulous supply chain policies and procedures. Uphold the highest standards through the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive supply chain documentation.
System Administration: Manage user profiles and meticulously control access permissions within the HTS, ensuring utmost data security and integrity.
Personnel Oversight: Directly oversee and manage personnel within the unit, ensuring a harmonious coordination and unwavering commitment to organizational objectives.
Perform any other tasks requested by the supervisors.
FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITIES
Supply Chain Management and Optimization
Demonstrates ability to design basic supply chain networks, including appropriately assessing and escalating challenges to ensure that WFP is able to provide consistent and uninterrupted service to its beneficiaries and partners.
Planning, Project & Resource Management
Collects and analyses relevant technical data from diverse sources to forecast operational needs under various scenarios and makes evidence-based proposals.
Information Management & Reporting
Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to consolidate preliminary data analysis, draft reports and disseminate information that represents concerns and trends.
Market Analysis, Contracting and Operational Execution
Demonstrates ability to collect market information and process and analyse proposals in line with WFP standard rules and regulations in order to deliver efficiently.
Warehouse and Inventory Management
Demonstrates ability to implement operational warehouse procedures and normative guidance in order to manage WFP’s warehouse, handle inventory effectively through corporate systems, and ensure loss mitigation.
Technical Assistance and Coordination
Demonstrates abilities to provide basic technical advice and maintain effective (inclusive, collaborative, unified) logistics coordination mechanisms with humanitarian partners and other relevant stakeholders.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced University degree in business administration, information management, computer science, statistics, Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management or other related field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
Experience:
✓ 1 or more years of professional experience for (master’s degree holders) working in a relevant field.
✓ 3 or more years of professional experience for (bachelor’s degree holders) working in a relevant field.
Note: (Administrative/Assistant/Secretariat work experience is not considered, except for years holding Associate positions or above (UN equivalent grade G-6 or above), in which case each year is counted at 50%).
Language:
Fluency in English (level C written and spoken).
Fluency in Arabic (level C written and spoken).
